To effectively manage asbestos, a survey must be carried out to discover, identify and assess the condition of any materials containing asbestos. All asbestos surveys should be carried out in accordance with the HSE guidance note, MDHS 100 which describes three types of survey:-
Type 1 - Presumptive
Type 2 - Visual with samples
Type 3 – Intrusive
At Asbestos Management Services, our team of highly experienced asbestos surveyors are able to perform each of these three survey types as detailed in MDHS100. The type of survey most appropriate is wholly dependent on each client/property specific requirements.
Regulation 4 (CAWR 2002) places an explicit duty on the employer in occupation to manage the risks from asbestos in their premises. The control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR) requires asbestos to be identified and assessed.
